Review of Christine (1987) by David S — 30 Nov 2012
Even though (or perhaps because?) this is John Carpenter filming a Steven King concept, this movie is not scary. Instead, it's a lot of cheeky humor about self-destructive teenage urges and tropes.
The muscle car symbolizes so much that is better junked or left on the scrap heap, whether it be overplayed oldies, overused smart-alecky remarks, or overwrought high school bullies with a bad attitude.
Viewers will be in a position to savor what happens to both Christine and Christine's victims.
