Review of Christine (1983) by Dylan C — 19 Jun 2011
Entertaining Carpenter horror film based on the novel by Stephen King features some chillingly good performances and nicely written screenplay. When nerdy Arnie Cunningham buys a red 1958 Plymouth Fury, it's love at first sight until strange murders begin happening around town and Arnie begins to shift from a likeable wimpy nerd into a antisocial bad boy who's only concern in his car.
We can all relate to Arnie's deep love for his car and like the novel by Stephen King does, this film takes that relatable aspect and drives it to the extreme. Christine isn't scary but it is well-made and serves as a fairly entertaining horror flick.
