Review of Christine (1983) by Steve J — 21 Dec 2012
Pretty bad. Wanted to like it, but the underlying concept is just too silly. It fails, in spite of some lovely imagery and a couple of chilling moments. Keith Gordon is too overwrought, John Stockwell is minimally talented, Harry Dean Stanton is his usual likable self, and Roberts Blossom steals the show as the grubby dude what sells the evil car to the nerdy kid.
Even as a John Carpenter fan I can't think of much to recommend it.
