Review of Christine (1983) by Victor D — 12 May 2008
Whether or not it was a "paycheck" gig for JC this movie is still very slick and very cool. Great cinematography, great music, great set design and the car itself is the star of the film. I actually believe that the film improved on the novel by omitting some plot points and sequences.
Thank to Carpenter there is some set up involved so we learn to care for these characters and feel for them when Christine takes over their world. Look for a great turn in by Harry Dean Stanton and the Plymouth on fire is so classic!
