Review of Christine (1983) by Tara B — 05 Aug 2012
To be fair to John Carpenter, I wasn't fond of the novel "Christine" so it's not shocking to find the adaptation to be a travesty. The film has a few things going for it, namely the driven-in scene and the typical Carpenter atmosphere.
However, the narrative is horrendous. Arnie's descent into a mad obsession happens in roughly five minutes and from there on out nothing any of the characters do, including and especially Arnie, is logical - if so-and-so is dumb enough to .
. . then it follows the audience doesn't care what happens plot or character wise. With "Christine" wasted talents sparkle bright with no interior.
