Review of Chopper (2012) by Miranda G — 02 Jan 2008
Eric Bana gives a performance I never knew he had in him, especially after seeing much of his Hollywood work. The opening jail sequence is pretty absorbing, it's only when he returns to his hometown, that the film starts to drag a little.
You never get deep enough into the character, and there is no explanation as to how he becomes a best-selling author. If they'd added on another 30 minutes in order to explain this, then I think the film would have been a more satisfying piece of work.
