Review of Chopper (2012) by Sam C — 06 Feb 2009
Eric Bana's breakout role as Aussie archcriminal Mark "Chopper" Reade, is reason enough to see this exceptional gangster movie. He's a big, brutal, ugly thug that for some reason you just can't hate.
He's like a psycho biker you meet at the bar who thinks your his best friend and you just can't escape. This movie is on my list with the pantheon of gangster flicks (and I think we all know that list).
It's filmed in a dark, grim grainy film stock and yet the film is hilarious because it shows the ultimate reality behind gangsters: that they're usually pretty fuckin stupid.
