Review of Chopper (2000) by Nick S — 01 Sep 2008
Firstly, I love the de-saturated colouring which is used in this film. This single tactic instantly makes the film more grittier and it really sets the tone. Eric Bana is awesome as Chopper, putting in a fine performance and managing to balance a bit of humour with some vicious violent goodness.
The last act of the film probably needs some tweaking. The interview, followed be viewing of the TV special all seems a bit pointless seeing as we already know Chopper is a publicity seeking bullshit artist.
Still, a good, gritty film with a twisted edge.
