Review of Chopper (2000) by Erin C — 25 May 2009

Great film, although at the end, I was a little worried that I found a lot of parts very funny... the violent parts... and pretty much everything else about it! As usual, Eric Bana performs wonderfully, making Chopper a really likeable guy, despite being a complete psychotic fruitcake. Although the acting is very good overall, Bana stands out the most (obviously, being the main character!).

I would definately recommend this movie to anyone... well, it may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's worth watching just for Bana's performance. Even as a fan of gory films, there were still some scenes in this film that made me a little squemish... ear lobes being sliced off, for example! An excellent film which earns a special place on my hard drive!
