Review of Chop Shop (2008) by Matt V — 29 Mar 2009
The setup here has a lot of potential -- in the shadow of Shea Stadium, representing something of a life of pleasure, 13ish-year-old Alejandro lives and works in the dingy chop shops of Willets Point. The action and individual scenes are exciting, but the overall story comes up short.
Cool to see this depiction of this community in Queens which one day might get eminent domained.
