Review of Choke (2008) by Aidan H — 06 Dec 2009
A poignant and funny film such as this requires an actor with a certain set of skills and Rockwell has them in spades. Playing a sex-addict tracing the roots of his priapic habit via his on-off relationship with his mentally-impaired mother, Rockwell delivers a adorable performance that shows the scars and the child within without ever bludgeoning to death his audience.
A notable supporting cast (including the terrifying but glamorous Huston) and some lively dialogue also contribute to this off-beat but entertaining romp.
