Review of Choke (2008) by Alister N — 25 Aug 2010
Comparing this Palahniuk adaptation to Fight Club is as inevitable as it is unfair. Though Rockwell is pleasingly despicable in the title role, holding the whole together really, it's too much a meat-and-potatoes prodcution in comparison to the creative flair of Fincher's masterpiece.
The original, biting dialogue remains but one can't help but wonder what could have been done with the source material in craftier hands.
