"Once upon a time, there was a quiet little village in the French countryside, whose people believed in Tranquilité - Tranquility. If you lived in this village, you understood what was expected of you. You knew your place in the scheme of things. And if you happened to forget, someone would help remind you. In this village, if you saw something you weren't supposed to see, you learned to look the other way. If perchance your hopes had been disappointed, you learned never to ask for more. So through good times and bad, famine and feast, the villagers held fast to their traditions. Until, one winter day, a sly wind blew in from the North..." -Storyteller.

A nice movie. Very nice. It is about a woman who's life is all about making chocolate and a village who is too much inclined with their religion. I bet not all of you would be interested to watch this film but I am sure this movie will leave a smile on your face. Juliette Binoche did a good job in this film by simply being simple. That's why I think she deserves an Oscar nod.

It is a bit hard to decide which of the two sides o follow. The traditionalists or Vianne Rocher's mindset. It shows us that people without a specific belief is not always bad. Tradition can be changed. Whether for the good or for the bad. But there is away that two sides can be followed. Both what we THOUGHT bad and what we THOUGHT good. Being judgmental is a big no for this film.
