Review of Chocolat (2000) by Countess N — 13 Oct 2009
This is definitely a character-driven movie. Because of this, it's a good thing the acting's so spectacular. The movie does a good job of portraying the cultural battlefield of post-war Europe between the young and the old and the liberal and the conservative.
..without hitting you over the head too much. Good comedy, good drama, good romance. I also pretty much want to eat all the chocolate made in this movie.
