Review of CHiPs (2017) by Jake F — 02 Jul 2017
An unoriginal film that borrows from past successful cop comedies. Unoriginality aside, it still fails to create a believable relationship between Baker and Poncherello, played by Dax Shepard and Michael Pena respectively.
It has bright moments between the two main characters, but these are short sparks of light that quickly fizzle out. Even the accomplished actor, Vincent D'Onofrio, couldn't save the unemotional, helpless, and inconsistent character of Vic Brown.
Not an intelligent film, but if you are looking to turn your brain off for an hour and a half, you can certainly find some joy in this movie.
