Review of Chinatown (1974) by John S — 24 May 2011
To get the obvious cliche' out of the way: "they don't make 'em like this anymore!" Chinatown is one of the most intricately written film noire crime films of all time, but mostly in the integral sense instead of the literal sense, without there being too many ridiculous twists and turns.
The characters and themes and ironic intricacies are just incredible and the performances that catapult this intricate screenplay are just phenomenal. Just, beautiful.
