Review of Chinatown (1974) by Gio R — 19 Jul 2012
Holy Bonkers! This is one of the best films ever, period. Chinatown is one, if not the most engrossingly entertaining film experiences of all time. The film is unpredictable and adventuresome to the fullest, which is totally awesome.
Chinatown is a cerebrally minded detective fans day at the beach. The film is full of P.I. goodness including chase sequences, investigating water faculties, running from gun fire, colossal twists and turns, detective work, Shady characters you want taken to justice and good characters you are rooting to win.
.. It's all there with slickly scenic and well organized cinematography and a great soundtrack. The ending of film is incomprehensibility flat & totally dissatisfactory and will leave you wishing that there was a J.
J. Gittes comic book somewhere in the world, he's one cool dude. Regardless, the ending of the film should not transmute anyones desire to see this geniusly crafted film. Hands down, one of the most amazing cinematic rides of all time.
