Review of Chinatown (1974) by Jamie B — 16 Mar 2015

I generally hate period pieces, were everyone is walking around in their suits and hats and such, so I came at Chinatown with that in the back of my head. Well that, and I really had only heard it mentioned a couple times and had no clue what it was even about, but I have to say this, Chinatown is awesome. Jack Nicholson gives one of the best performances I have seen from him, the rest of the actors all work well and the story itself is really something. Who knew a mystery about water would be so great, but it is. The look of the film was also well done, I never got the feeling that I was watching people faking living in the 30's, I seems like it was filmed then. So overall, awesome movie, great Jack and I will never look at someone with a bandage on their nose the same way again.
