Review of Chinatown (1974) by Michael K — 25 Sep 2015
Chinatown is Directed by Roman Polanski and stars Jack Nicholson, Faye Dunaway and John Huston. It follows the life of a private investigator, J.J Gittes (Jack Nicholson), as he investigates the death of Hollis Mulwray.
The film takes on subjects such as Corruption, Incest and privatization of water in Los Angeles. The movie is set in the 30's and it definitely feels like it, they captured the time period perfectly.
The performances are all fantastic, especially Jack Nicholson. And the script is damn near perfect. And some people may not know that the movie is actually all seen through the eyes of Jack Nicholson's character.
He is in every scene, its incredibly well done. An absolute classic. 4/4.
