Despite an interesting premise, an intriguing location and a few subplots that could have made this film must see and truly enjoyable, it simply fell flat when it counted. Unquestionably the weakest of the original trilogy, Child's Play 3 adds way too much camp and not enough where the first two films succeeded, suspense.

The closing sequences inside the carnival seemed tacked on and did not fit in with any part of the film. Adding a love story seemed necessary but it went nowhere, the subplot involving the leader of the cadets died down quickly until everyone involved in that plot were killed off in spectacular fashion.

Chucky's end game seems interesting in this movie. As in the previous two movies, he wants out of the doll body and believes Andy is his only possible convoy. After, somehow, mailing himself to the military school where Andy has been placed in order to attempt to bring order and discipline into his life, he meets Tyler, a 6 or 8 year old boy who loves the Good Guy doll.

He comes to the conclusion that since he has a new body that Tyler is now his conduit out of the body he is imprisoned within. Despite the knowledge that he will no longer be inside the doll's body, it has never made sense to me that Chucky would want to switch bodies with a child.

There are a few moments that make this movie watchable, such as Chucky switching out the paintball rounds with live bullets for the war games and the nerd of the movie sacrificing himself on the grenade.

Although entertaining at times and adding subplots that could have made a better film, the ending takes everything away and the director simply zooms through Chucky's ultimate demise (which was pretty cool despite the locale) and leaves you wondering why that was the ending.
