A poor boy, Andy, gets a Good Guy doll from his mother who purchased the stolen item on the street. Unfortunately for Andy, the doll was recently infused with the soul of a serial killer who performed voodoo to prevent his soul from going to hell.
Because Andy was the first person to interact with that evil Good Guy, he must use Andy as the new home for his soul, but has a limited time to do so (otherwise he's stuck a doll). At first Andy gets blamed for the destruction caused by Chucky, but it is soon realized by some that the doll is to blame.
Decent well-known 80s horror which I hadn't seen all the way through until now.
