Don Mancini's "Child's Play" introduced the world to Charles Lee Ray, the Lakeshore Strangler, trapped in a cuddly Good Guys doll. The first film is a thriller that doesn't give the viewer any slack.
There are some funny one-liners from Chucky in the film, but overall this is a lean and mean thrill ride. Recommended.
