Review of Child's Play (1993) by Chris C — 11 Jan 2017
Child's Play is a movie that withstands the test of time and stands up as a true horror classic that is still entertaining and effective today. With great performances, especially by Brad Dourif as Chucky, the movie feels grounded in reality even though the the scenario is completely unrealistic.
What could be a goofy, over-the-top horror comedy is approached with a (mostly) serious tone that makes Chucky truly menacing. This is a straightforward slasher that just happens to contain magic and a killer doll as the villain.
