Review of Child's Play (1988) by Brandon W — 29 Nov 2014
Child's Play is a great horror film that is the best Chucky film in the series. With a young kid is the main character, I was worried that he's going to be annoying in it. But Alex Vincent is actually not bad in this and Catherine Hicks.
But what stole this show is Brad Dourif as Chucky. He's awesome in this, he's funny, and can be a bit terrifying. I don't like the "people don't believe that person, but realize that the person is right" cliché in this, but surprisingly, it doesn't last that long and can be a bit funny.
Child's Play does have some humorous moments in it, mostly from Chucky, and has a sense of creepiness in it. The effects are amazing and is surprising that it's practical effects, It's not scary at all though, and some things don't make sense.
Child's Play has created a villain that would be remembered for many years, even if the movie has some problems.
