Review of Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things (1972) by Jason R — 30 Aug 2009
Horror comedy in which a group of actors dig up a body, perform a Satanic ritual, and end up facing the living dead. The director Bob Clark (Black Christmas, Christmas Story, Porky's) talked about remaking it but died before he could.
The movie is ultra low budget and sometimes feels like Weekend at Bernie's. The zombies despite being oddly colored, are pretty interesting, but it takes a long time to get to them. The film isn't atmospheric enough to be scary until the end and the end happens too quickly to build any fear.
