Review of Children of the Damned (1964) by Tristin M — 29 Aug 2007
BEWARE THE EYES THAT PARALYZE!
Anti-Cold War sequel to Village Of The Damned in which the ADULTS are the bad guys.
No fair-haired freaks here - all the kids are of 'normal' appearance, which somehow makes them slightly more unsettling - but that's probably down to how great the children's performances are (especially Yoke-Mon Lee and Clive Powell, the lead kid).
This doesn't have the classic 'feel' (or indeed, status) of Village, but it's a fine little sci-fi flick. Talky, though.
Screenwriter John Briley later wrote Gandhi (who, coincidentally, makes a cameo in THIS film via a portrait on a wall!!).
