Review of Children of the Corn (1984) by Chris S — 23 Mar 2008
The concept behind this movie is interesting, but the movie in itself is quite boring. It is slow-paced, the soundtrack is annoying, and the storyline is lacking. There are some good insights on religion, and the kid who plays Isaac is amazing; he's like a pre-Eric Cartman (South Park).
Also, I have to say that it is quite uncommon (and refreshing) for an horror movie to use little special effects, have mostly suggestive (instead of direct) violence and being set in broad daylight. And now that I have learned that there are *6* sequels, I want to watch them all to see how low, and how fast, the whole thing sunk.
