Review of Children of the Corn (1984) by Sondre L — 10 Sep 2010
This film was just good old fashioned fun. Great score, shot like a story with just the right amount of tension should be. Not relying on an overabundance on gore. The key is in the performances, mostly from the younger cast. The boy that played Malachai was a terrible actor, but he was still menacing. John Franklin, who played Issac, on the other hand, was brilliant. Sounded way beyond his years and had a presence rare among actors of his generation.
If you're deeply disturbed by the idea of young children, brainwashed by a demonic force into viciously murdering every adult (Interloper!) they spy, this film is probably not for you.
