Review of Children of Men (2006) by Robert D — 17 Jun 2012
Impressive movie. What struck me the most were the unbelievably long and beautiful shots throughout the movie. The camera weaving and drifting throughout the scene really brought the gravity and the atmosphere of many scenes to perfect view for those watching.
It is violent and depressing, but it really succeeds in everything it tries to do, which reaches beyond simply being violent and depressing. It is a cautionary tale and a valid cultural perspective. I am very impressed with this movie because it manages to convey everything it wants to, and very well.
