Review of Children of Men (2006) by Henry F — 28 Apr 2014
This is a brilliant focus on humanity and society which is overall surprisingly positive despite its extremely moody style. It's very nicely shot, the long takes really have to be admired and they give the film a great and unique stylistic quality. Most of the performances are very good, but there's one or two that are questionable. Plus there are a few little things that don't quite add up, like how the hell didn't that kid go deaf?
Apart from these small hiccups, this is a film with a really nice style, and it should be considered as a very important piece of modern cinema.
