Review of Children of Men (2006) by Jay D — 14 Oct 2013
This film set in dystopian future is scary on certain levels specially when a world where no child has been born for past 18 years & there is infertility & totalitarian nature everywhere. Emmanuel Lubezki's camera work specially those long uncut shots specifically car scene, opening credits & climax are perfect for keeping the tension throughout the film.
Alfonso Cuaron's direction & editing is seamless with great performance & believable production designs. IMHO much better & smartly crafted than recent Cuaron's work Gravity.
