Review of Child 44 (2015) by David T — 19 Apr 2015
Leo Demidov (Tom Hardy) grew up in poverty stricken Ukraine by the order of Stalin then transformed into a USSR war hero turned secret police officer in Moscow working against the very government who sent him into exile to pursue a child serial killer.
Its very tense and has dark themes which work a treat for a film like this and once again Tom Hardy and Noomi Rapace excel in the lead roles here delivering strong performances. The film received unfair negativity from the critics but I guess many good films have that problem now.
