4/25/2015: The book was very good, but the movie was quite disappointing. The cast was good and Hardy plays a great Russian. This could have been the first of an excellent trilogy, but the movie really missed out on the struggles of the Stalin era and wasn't near gritty or rough enough.
Too bad! Hopefully they get a new writer/director so the other two movies can be made properly.
