The only real downside to watching this movie in the theaters would be the decision to have the characters speak in thick Russian accents. Not a problem at home thanks to subtitles. It is the story of a cop trying to find a child murderer despite a Stalinist police force incentivized to find "traitors" and not to find actual crimes.
He's a kind of Soviet Batman.
