Review of Child 44 (2015) by Vanessa M — 06 Dec 2015
I found the story and acting to be very enthralling. This is a dark, human interest story centering on the relationship between the married couple trying to catch a murderer in the midst of a government wishing to silence them and a set of terrifying personal circumstances.
It is not a popcorn chomping action movie, nor much of a mystery. The gritty reality portrayed in this film, however, got me big time. This film reminded me a little bit of Fritz Lang's M in its tone and some of the philosophical themes at play.
A very good movie for anyone that likes strong and gritty character drama without all the flashy CG distraction.
