Review of Chief Zabu (2016) by Lauren D — 01 Nov 2016
The Chief Zabu film directed by Neil Cohen and Zack Norman is a fast-paced and energetic political satire that I highly recommend seeing! This slapstick comedy tells the story of two hilarious New York real estate developers who attempt to take over the small independent island of Tiburaku to gain wealth and political influence.
Although their plans take an unexpected turn, the hysterical duo never fails to find success with their entrepreneurial spirit and sense of humor. Even though it was only recently released, this incredibly funny comedy was filmed in the 1980's on a limited budget.
It's timelessness and relevant story give the audience an opportunity to immerse themselves in a different time period as well as relate to friends Ben Sydney and Sammy Brooks (played by Allen Garfield and Zack Norman respectively) as they are determined to achieve the American dream.
