Review of Chicken Little (1943) by John H — 09 Oct 2012
RANDOM REVIEW:
A mediocre movie that emphasises imagery over substance. However, the imagery isn't all that pretty either. It is nice to look at sometimes but it's the same computer animation we've seen done in non-Disney-Pixar films. This was a desperate effort made by Disney to try and make a CGI movie without Pixar's help. The result is underwhelming.
I remember seeing this in the movies getting bored by how cliched the whole thing was. There's the awkward hero who is a total embarrassment to himself. After thinking "the sky is falling", Chicken Little alerts the whole town about something, only they believe he started a hoax deliberately and just wanted attention to himself. A year passes by and after endless humiliation, he finally wins a baseball game and is the talk of the town. However, something just isn't quite right. The rest of the movie involves aliens and stuff that I no longer wish to explain in further detail in case I spoil the movie for anybody who bothers to see it.
If you like Disney/Pixar movies for their strong stories, awesome characters, emotion and gorgeous animation, you're going to be disappointed.
I give Chicken Little 2/5 stars.
