Review of Chicago (2002) by Lewis E — 29 Jul 2013
My bad, I didn't realise it was a proper full-out musical when I press play. I thought it was a story about jazz performers rather than being one big jazz performance. Every monologue and various key events are explained through song and dance on a stage.
Musicals are meant for the theatre where you fell better appreciate for the live performers. If you like film musicals then you're in the right place but 9 times out of 10 I can't stand them. All the songs sound the same and the half-interesting non-musical bits only serve to provide a short bridge to the next jingle.
Created for a female audience me thinks.
