Review of Chicago (2002) by Penny L — 08 Jan 2012
Many people don't consider this a "must-see movie", actually many were furious when it won 6 Oscars because it apparently didn't "deserve any." I disagree with those people, yes, this movie does have its flaws but you cannot deny that it one of the best musicals of the 2000s and that the acting is great.
But although the acting is a plus, the music is the real thing that should be getting praised. Before it made it to the silver screen, Chicago was originally a play on Broadway. The opening number, "All That Jazz" is perfect and all the other songs live up to the impressive first one.
Overall, this is the kind of movie you can watch again and again, like listening to your favorite record over and over.
