Review of Chicago (1927) by Amanda H — 18 Jun 2012
The best thing about this film is definitely the musical numbers. At times the plot is a bit hard to follow because of all the cutaways throughout the songs, but overall I enjoyed this much more than I expected it to.
I do expect it's nowhere near as good as the stage version, but that can be said of most film adaptations of musicals. This will never be one of my favorites, but it's enjoyable and the cast is very solid.
