Review of Chicago (1927) by David F — 17 Dec 2012
I was not expecting this movie to be this good. I kept putting off seeing until a friend finally convinced me to see it. Thanks Melissa. This movie is solid from the get go. The songs and dance numbers are sensational. Renee Zellweger is awesome and she got robbed of an Oscar. She was funny, emotional, sexy, and manipulative. Catherine Zeta Jones is just as good. Even Richard Gere gets into the act with a good tap dance number. Also solid support from Queen Latifah and John C. Reilly (who nails the Mr. Cellophane number). A truly great musical and great film with several showstopping moments.
