I love Chicago to death! This movie stands as one of my favorite broadway to silver screen adaptations. I love the shit out of it. I love the performances, I love the acting, I love the choreography, I love the story it tells, I just can't get enough. Now, if for some reason you haven't heard of Chicago, I'll tell you. Chicago is a broadway musical about murder in the 20s and how women just..they were killing the shit out of men because they didn't like they way they were being treated, they were being cheated on, beaten, etc. So they fight back..with murder, obviously. The story focuses on a woman named Roxie Hart (best name ever!) who's played by Renee Zellwegger, and she wants to be a star! She wants to be in the spotlight, she wants applause, she wants the fame. The chances of that become slimmer once she shoots the shit out of her "lover". So she's sent to prison, a prison for woman to be specific. And there she sees the big star who shot her husband and her sister, Velma Kelly (again with the name, my god!). Eventually we go on and see that Roxie gets a big lawyer named Billy Flynn, played by Richard Gere (I'll get back to him). And in an event of twists Roxie starts to become the star, basically through faking a pregnancy..hey! It's better than nothin'. Back to Richard Gere! I've talked to a lot of people about the movie and a lot of people say they liked everything but Richard Gere. Apparently, it's his voice that is a bothersome. I'm just gonna clear the air now, I don't mind him. No, he's not the Bert performer or actor in the movie, but he's a good enough Billy Flynn for me. Could've been worse. The reason why I love Chicago so much is because, for one I get insanely excited whenever any of the numbers come on (cept for Mister Cellophane), two there aren't too many songs there's a perfect amount of dialogue and musical numbers. Three Catherine Zeta Jones. She just amazes me every time I watch the movie, her performance is the greatest. I love her gritty and fun personality she brings to the role! Renee Zelwegger surprised me with how good her voice was, she can belt it out, who would've known? Chicago is my number 1, my go to musical. I love pretty much every song, there might be one song I don't love but I can still get through it because of the amazing choreography. I love it all!! It includes my favorite song All That Jazz, gives me chills every time!

I give Chicago..A+.
