Review of Cherrybomb (2009) by Steph O — 06 Dec 2010
"Cherrybomb" isn't bad. I don't think it's great either though. It's kind of unpleasant. Really well-acted, but I was just unimpressed by the time the credits rolled. Robert Sheehan is excellent, and Rupert Grint was really interesting too... it just wasn't the movie I thought it was going to be.
"Cherrybomb" is one of those movies that starts off as a teen drama that you expect to end with nothing spectacular having happened... but then it gets really dark. Worth seeing if you're a Sheehan fan for sure, but otherwise "Cherrybomb" is just a well-acted teen drama that might leave you feeling a little underwhelmed, and a little depressed. I'll add half a star because Sheehan and Grint were pretty awesome in this movie. Particularly with those brilliant accents.
