There was potential there but ultimately it just wasn't done right...they spent far too long dwelling on things that dragged, like waiting for the son to come home and then far too little on the climax.
..the ending, when the son came home, which was the entire point of the plot line...there were some tense moments but altogether it just wasn't a tense movie and it was hard to relate to any of the characters or the choices they made.
..especially in the ending...which sucked, in my opinion.
