Review of Cherry 2000 (1987) by Zoë P — 11 Mar 2010
The big combination of the Mad Max Trilogy (or Resident Evil: Extinction) and Blade Runner was what really caught my eye. I don't recognize any of the actors but the theme of the movie seemed to be a lot like a an oddball mix The Road Warrior and Blade Runner.
They had tons of similarities. Indeed this movie was very silly and inappropiate in some scenes but over all it was so bad that I liked it. I don't know if this is a cult classic or not but to me it is a bit culty.
I loved the outfits that Six Finger Jake and E. wore, but most of all I have to say I completely love the architecture of the buildings and Sky Ranch. It was so amazing! It was almost a little Soylent Green with all the girls running around in the little modern Sky Ranch.
The furniture was completely amazing! I know I can't base my movie rating on the fact that the furniture was retro but I have to say that it contributed to my to me giving it more stars. A lot of the scenes in the film were really not realistic at all (yes, I am pointing out the part when they are in the plane flying away in the sunset in a little yellow plane kissing) but over all it really was that to painful to watch.
Great cult movie to watch on a lazy afternoon when there is nothing left on television.
