With many ups and downs (mostly downs) "Chernobyl Diaries" squanders its semi-interesting plot, disregarding its "found footage" demeanor within the first few minutes. If any film could have benefited from that shaky camera footage, it was this one.

Giving props for thinking outside the box (with a surprise appearance from a bear!), there is really nothing to see besides people doing dumb things in dumb places, just asking to be brutally murdered.
