Cheri is a real period piece and so a bit hard to get into. it takes place during La Belle Epoch a transitional time and one not usually dealt with in cinema so new to most viewers. if you let yourself go with the good acting and beautiful sets and costumes the end will justify the means.

Collette was an incredible writer and this a fairly good adaptaion of two of her works. Its like great box of candy the flavors are always changing but the chocolate is constant.
