Too much to be a fun romp, but the characters are too frivalous and the story too weakly told for it to be truly engrossing. 1/2 a star for the costumes, especially the black hat Michelle Pfeiffer wears at the hotel when she runs away.
Not nearly as good as the other Steven Frears movies I've seen.
