A nice story mixed with a solid cast gives you a feel-good enjoyable film that isn't anything particularly new in fact its a quite familiar plot type you've seen a bunch in movies all the way to the super happy everything perfect ending.

Theres some filler here in the form of musical interludes while they show people cooking. I think if I didn't enjoy the cooking subject matter so much I would probably think this was a pretty bland cookie-cutter movie.

Also I'm pretty sure the Favreau character would not have Sofia Vergara as a wife.
