Review of Cheerleader Camp (1988) by Hamel G — 31 Oct 2008
Originally called Bloody Pom Poms, this cheesy but very enjoyable 80's slasher was released at a time when the genre was in serious decline. And while it is not out there with the best, it has a certain charm about it. Its greatest asset is lead actress Betsy Russel. It's nice to see her re-surfacing in the 00's with her role as jigsaw's wife in Saw 4. It also stars 70's teen hearttrob Leif Garrett, already way past his expiry date here.
Nice twist-ending too.
